St. Jospeh Sunset.

Returning after a day of fishing on Lake Michigan, upon entering the no wake zone of the harbor, slowly meandering along until reaching the juxtaposition point I thought would complete this composition, the boat added the final touch to this spectacular sunset scene in beautiful St Joseph.

To capture the ephemeral beauty of the moment I relied on a combination of field notes jotted down frantically, a few thumbnail sketch notes and multiple photo notes  captured with my phone. With this reference material, my own mental notes and visual memory, all of the above came into play to execute and release this image from my memory and creative urge to commit it to canvas.
